Questions

Wildfire and testing

Isn't tempered glass enough to protect a window from wildfire?

It helps, but it's only one part. Tempered glass handles heat far better than ordinary glass. A window, though, is a system of glass, frame, thermal break, gaskets, seals and hardware. If the frame or a seal gives way, the opening can fail even when the glass survives.

If a window is "fire-rated," is the whole window fire-rated?

Not necessarily. Ask what exactly carries the rating: the glass, one fixed window, one door, one size, or the complete family of windows and doors you are specifying.

If a window passed a fire test, was it engineered for wildfire?

Not always. A test answers the question it was designed to answer and nothing more. Ask what was tested, how, for how long, and what counted as failure.

How did Revyn perform in CAL FIRE's wildfire test?

A Revyn window passed CAL FIRE's SFM 12-7A-2 test, which requires eight minutes of direct flame exposure, then continued to perform so far past it that the testing team ended up switching the burner off. At eight minutes, you could still put your bare hand on the inside of the window frame without burning yourself.

Does Revyn have an NFRC energy rating?

Revyn has received CAL FIRE testing and certification, and our formal NFRC energy rating is being finalized.

Questions

Therma Web™ and the windows

What is Therma Web™?

Revyn's patent-pending technology. It combines a welded 316 stainless steel truss, a next-generation thermal break that doesn't rely on plastic structural connectors, and five performance cores: fire, thermal, hurricane, sound and ballistic.

What are the performance cores?

Fire, thermal, hurricane, sound and ballistic. They can be selected or combined without changing the frame. Our initial focus is wildfire and energy efficiency; other configurations require their own engineering, testing and certification.

What's the difference between the Extreme Climate and Legacy Series?

Standard or custom. The Extreme Climate Series offers nine core configurations in a focused range of parametric sizes. The Legacy Series includes all the benefits of the Extreme Climate Series while offering architects the ability to push the boundaries of size and design.

Why 316 stainless steel?

It's a marine-grade stainless steel, known for exceptional strength, corrosion resistance and durability, which suits wildfire-prone regions, coastal environments and extreme weather. Ours is American-sourced, traceable and made to ASTM A240.

Questions

Buying and owning

Where are Revyn windows made?

In our factory at 30 Precision Drive, North Springfield, Vermont, from American 316 stainless steel and American hardware.

How long do Revyn windows take?

Once your order is confirmed, expected delivery is about fourteen to sixteen weeks for the Extreme Climate Series, and longer for the custom Legacy Series. Imported steel windows can take thirty to fifty weeks to make, plus four to six weeks of shipping.

What warranty comes with Revyn windows?

A limited lifetime structural warranty covering the frame and structural welding.

Can Revyn windows be repaired after a wildfire?

Yes. Fire-exposed Revyn windows can be returned to our factory for complete reconditioning, so you keep your original investment instead of starting over.

Can you match a window years from now?

Yes. We keep the original production file for every Revyn window, so we can reproduce an exact match years after installation.

How is Revyn priced?

Every project is quoted individually. Because we manufacture in America, with a more efficient process and fewer middlemen, high-performance steel windows are accessible to a broader range of homeowners.
